I was born in London and have always loved
this wonderful city and was therefore very pleased when
I initially passed the City of London exams and then
the London Blue Badge Tourist Guide exams in 2001.

London Blue Badge
Awarded by the Institute of Tourist
Guiding, the Blue Badge is the mark of quality ensuring you are
getting the very best that the guiding world can provide. It is
the highest guiding qualification
in Britain, with comprehensive training, tough exams and
ongoing training.

City of London Guide
The City of London is often known as the
square mile (that’s 1.7 sq km) as that is all it
measures, but with 2000 years of history, a specialist
qualification is justified which I gained in 1998.
Association of Professional Tourist Guides
– APTG
Professional body set up to look after the
needs of tourist guides. APTG provide opportunities for
on-going training allowing me to expand and
update my knowledge. APTG publishes a monthly newsletter
to keep me in touch
and informed and also provide
my public liability insurance.
Institute of Tourist Guiding
Responsible for setting the standards for
the tourist guiding industry with the Blue Badge
being the highest award.
Ensuring quality is maintained,
they provide the examinations leading to
qualifications at
all levels.
